Mid Festival Update

AWESOME!!!! In a word, that's it, this festival has been awesome!!
Music started Friday night and except for the afternoon breaks, it carries on all day and night!
Talamasca played the first sunrise, I could hear it from my tent(lazy ass wouldn't get out of bed). Not sure what happened Saturday coz I was sick all day/night, ask Paul he was out bouncing around all day. This morning started with a BRILLANT live set and by Space Tribe. He played to 2000 happy dusty stomping freaks. It amazing as the sun comes up over the sea and hits the mountains "boy oh boy it's just super" ;). Christof played a great set after Olli and he was followed by Alien Project. Greg I can see why he's your favorite at the moment. It was great.
The dance floor has NO shade so by 9am it's almost too hot to dance. By noon everyone is dripping with sweat, dusty, smiling and happy as hell. We figured out a neat trick though, go swimming and dance in the sea. Smart eh? and it only took us 4 days to figure that one out :)(I enjoyed the end of Alien Project's set while floating around) In case I didn't make it clear, we're having a great time :)

So we made it to the island finally. Had a bit of a screw around with our ferry tickets, but we sorted it out and we got here yesterday. Immediately ran into someone we knew from Zambia, so we started hanging out with him and his friends. All the boys get go off to rent motorcycles and I'm talking to this girl, Sunny, from San Fran. She says to me my friend just moved to Toronto she needs a cool friend like you. I say Is her name Cara. Yup, I met her last week at a party. Sunny says " oh yeah that was the Space Tribe party, but poor Olli and the promoters got set up". Me " Yeah I'm one of the promters!!!" D'oh!! So exactly how small is the world???? We're now camping with the lot of them and Olli will be aswell when he gets here, so we will be able to sort everything out!!! YAAAAA (side note: the pathetic loser that tried to screw with us didn't quite realize who he/she was dealing with, now I just want to throw more parties, bigger parties, better parties!!! ;) )
The trip is perfect so far. Music starts tomorrow I think, then almost non stop for seven days. hehhehehehhe I'm sooooo excited.

I hope everyone is well!! ....we miss you guys...one day we'll have to have a Toronto crew make it out to one of these festivals!

Well we made it and everything went sooooooooo smooth. Arrived in Athens yesterday afternoon. Immediatley bought tickets to Thessonaliki and return from Alexandroupoli and saved a couple hundred $'s by not buying them in Toronto. Stayed in an overpriced dump last night but moved to a really funky dump today. We have a big balcony just off the main street and the sounds of the traffic will be beautiful to fall asleep to. We spent the day today walking around, stopping in bars and tavernas and eating and drinking (eating is my favorite part of travelling!!!!) It's super hot here, we had to come back to the room for a cold shower and Paul's now taking a nap. We leave here tomorrow and begin to make our way to Samothraki. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

So as most of you know I'm making some huge masks as part of the deco for the Space Tribe party. I would like to put hair on them, but I need some advice. Can anyone suggest a cheap way to do this? I was thinking yarn, but what do all you guys use to make your extensions? It doesn't have to be black light active, coz presumably I can paint it.
Any suggestions would be great.
And if anyone just happens to have old ones around that they're about to throw out(do you throw them out?? I'm such a rookie :D) and would like to donate that would be awesome.

AH yes yet another awesome weekend.

We found out the hard way that our tent leaks, but not to worry my clothes soaked up most of the water! D'oh!!! But ah yes that allowed my to buy the "best" jacket ever (hehe)!!!

It will be a year ago on Friday that I got laid off. When it happened my life was something like this.

Paul and I were fighting so much I was ready to move out, my debt load was greater than my annual income, I had lost touch with most of my overseas friends, I had a job that was paying me crap and boring the hell out of me.

My life today.

Things with Paul and I are great after almost 7 yrs (holy crap!!), I have a kick ass job, have spent the last year travelling around on my company's budget, have hung out with loads of old friends, met a whole whack of new ones, my debts are almost gone and I finally enough money to throw a party (which is something I've wanted to do for ages).

Moral of the story: ummm I don't know what the moral is 'cept it's nice to be able to look back and see that I've grown and changed and have sorted things out. Things don't stay shitty forever!!!
